Flider comes out in favor of med-mal reform

No link to it, but today in the Herald-Review State Rep. Bob Flider came out in favor of med mal reform, specifically a cap on non-economic damages. I can't say I'm in favor of this at all. Rather than capping non-economic damages I would instead be more in favor of a screening board that reviews cases before trial, and says yes or no on whether the plaintiff can go for non-economic damages. I'm never a person in favor of absolutes, if a doctor screws up someones life, they deserve compensation, you can't put a cap on dealing with a loved one crippled for the rest of their life. Discuss amongst yourselves.
